One of the great new features of ClassicPress is the ability to install it via composer. This was introduced back in September as a potential enhancement. Since then we ClassicPress has become composer friendly, with the merge on November 1st!

Here is a quick guide to installing ClassicPress via composer:

Create a composer.json file

Installing ClassicPress via Composer 1

Copy the following code into this new file:

{
    "minimum-stability" :"dev",
    "repositories": [
        {
            "type": "composer",
            "url": "https://wpackagist.org"
        },
        {
            "type": "vcs",
            "url": "https://github.com/ClassyBot/ClassicPress-nightly.git"
        }
    ],
    "require": {
        "classicpress/classicpress": "*"
    }
}

Run the following command

composer install

Note: you may be asked to provide a GitHub OAuth Token, just follow the given instructions.

Congratulations, you have just installed ClassicPress via composer!

Alternatively, while we await V1 of ClassicPress you can use the following composer command (credit to Pierre Dargham):
